Here is my breastfeeding story...
I am a proud mother of one boy, Doxa. When I gave birth to him about two years ago (he makes two on 15th March), I had thought it was going to be an easy journey. I thought before I had my own baby that breastfeeding just required you to have breasts and if your blessed enough to have big ones that was even a bonus hahaha. I was on a journey to learn that it's not all glitz and Glam as I imagined. Is it easy??? I think so but.....
Well, my baby in particular had a choice of his own to make and he chose to feed on one side, he chose the left hand side of the breast. I did not ever think that with a brests as big as mine, t**s would be a problem until I experienced it. I was told that he rejects the other side because the tit is "inside", shock on me it was. Like you say what??? How is that even possible! So, for a couple of weeks I kept trying to teach him how to suckle that other breast as well but he gladly rejected all my attempts. Eventually, being the non-stress person that I am, I let him be, I let him have his favorite breast. And for all the time he breastfed, he did so on one breast.
I had heard before that if the milk stays in the b**b it causes lumps and on some occasions it might also lead one to hospital. I waited to see how mine goes down. I was not pumping it out, I just let it be ( I was too lazy to start pumping because I know myself, I don't have all that energy hahaha, putting it plainly, am lazy). Weeks passed and eventually the milk was not coming anymore. It just dried on it's own and speak of miracles, that was my Miracle.
I breastfed Doxa exclusively for six months. Again, this was so because one I was a stay home mum who had alot of time for him but also the whole process of washing bottles and pumping was not for me because of you know what! For Six months he was my handbag, wherever I went he went too. That is when I came up with the idea to have a store that has clothes for mothers like me....
