Easy Afric Designs Limited is a
Ugandan owned Business enterprise engaged in the manufacturing and sale of gifts and
fashion items made primarily out of a Ugandan cultural heritage fabric Barkcloth from a Fig tree species, ‘Ficus Natelensis’ locally known as ‘Mutuba Tree’; so ecologically unique, that a tree is never cut down, rather sustainably harvested annually for the felt cloth for about 20

years. In 2005, UNESCO recognized the technology and because of its innovative revelations, crowned it “a masterpiece of oral and intangible cultural heritage”. The company was created out of a passion for design development and production inspired by the specific exploration of the barkcloth fabric as the niche in the art, craft and fashion industry of the Country.
