The Isentu Pentagon print (from the Isentu collection) is inspired by the pillars of the Busoga Kingdom emblem. The pillars represent the 11 principalities that form the foundation of Busoga Kingdom with the Kyabazinga as the head. The two spears represent war weapons and are symbols of power. The pentagon represents the five hereditary chiefs from whom the Kyabazinga was initially selected. Busoga's constitution has however now been modified to allow all 11 hereditary chiefs to stand for election as Kyabazinga.

Get your Kigomo Pentagon wrapping paper today, because sharing stories about culture should be as easy as unwrapping a gift!

The Busoga region in the eastern part of Uganda comprises of 11 districts including the popular tourist destination of Jinja City. The region is home to the Basoga tribe/people and the source of the River Nile; the longest river in the world.

Busoga is ruled by His Royal Highness Isebantu Kyabazinga of Busoga. Unlike most kingdoms, the Kyabazinga is not directly succeeded by one of his children (princes) but elected from the 5 royal clans of Busoga.

The ISENTU COLLECTION by Kigomo is inspired by the Royal Kingdom of Busoga and its emblem. The Emblem consists of the Ko4b which represents the rich wildlife of Busoga; the two spears which are war weapons and symbols of power; The drums that are a symbol of communication; The pillars which represent the 11 principalities that are the foundation of Busoga Kingdom and the knot (in the center of the shield) which represents the Kyabazinga as the fulcrum of authority and chief binding factor of Busoga.

The prints in the collection comprise of a fusion of geometric patterns with elements of the emblem. They are a celebration of the heritage of .kigo.more the designer who aspires to showcase the intricate beauty of the pearl of Africa, Uganda; one region at a time!

The Pamoja (meaning "together" in Swahili ) Collection is a ready-to-wear fashion representation of bipolar disorder; the stages that a person experiences pre-diagnosis, post-diagnosis, and the journey through the condition and treatment phase. It advocates for acceptance and treatment of the two distinct personalities that are comprised of the mental health condition.

The collection visualizes three stages mania/depression, hypomania, and euthymia/clarity due to the condition, medication, and therapy. These are seen through transitions from dark to light colors and prints.

The Xola print within the collection is an original textile print that depicts "organized chaos" that reflects the illusions and confusion that bipolar creates as seen in the pattern movement when it is observed for long periods.

The choice of color for the collection was black and white as they are the colors for awareness of bipolar disorder. The grey color represents symptom reduction from treatment.

The collection comprises sustainable fashion techniques of zero-waste styles, recycling, and fabric upcycling.
