Assalaam Alaykum. Warahaumatullah.W

👉Ashuurah is the *10th day of Muharram* and doubles as the *peak of the month of Muharram*, which is one of the 4 (four) scared months,

👉 Muharramu is the *1st month of the Islamic calendar* and *2nd holiest after Ramadhan*.

💪Imaam *Abu Haaml Muhammad Muhammad Al-ghazaal* opine that we fast it because *all generations from Prophet Adam (ASW) to Prophet Muhammad (SAW)* have fasted, recognized and attached much importance on it.

⁉️ *BUT WHY*?👇

According to authoritative books, as per the Jews,

📌1️⃣. It’s the day when prophet *Adam ASW* was created.

📌2️⃣. It’s the day when Pht *Adam ASW and Hawa* entered Jannat.

📌3️⃣. It’s the day when the *duo above sinned.*

📌4️⃣. It’s the day when Allah *accepted the duo's Taubah.*

📌5️⃣. It’s the day when Allah *created His Arush* (where He rests His legs) which is on water

📌6️⃣ It’s the day when Allah *created His Qurusiyu*, (seat/chair).

📌7️⃣. It’s the day when Allah *created the earth.*

📌8️⃣. It’s the day when Allah *created the Heaven*.

📌9️⃣. It’s the day when Allah *created Paradise*

📌1️⃣0️⃣ It’s the day when Allah *created Jahanamah*

📌1️⃣1️⃣. It’s the day when the *earth received the 1st set of Rain ever*.

📌1️⃣2️⃣. It’s the day when *Prophet Noah's ship /oak stabilized* after the floods.

📌1️⃣3️⃣. It’s the day when *Prophet Musa ASW was born*.

📌1️⃣4️⃣. It’s the day when *Pharaoh was destroyed*

📌1️⃣5️⃣. It’s the day when *prophet Isa ASW was raised to Heaven*.

📌1️⃣6️⃣ It’s the day when prophet *Musa ASW was saved.*

📌1️⃣7️⃣. It’s the day when the *Quraish used to cloth the Holy Qaabah*.

📌1️⃣8️⃣. It’s the day when *Prophet Idriisa ASW was raised*.

📌18. It’s the day when *Prophet Yunus ASW was saved from the fish*.

📌2️⃣0️⃣. It’s the day when *prophet Ibrahim ASW was born*.

📌2️⃣1️⃣. It’s the day when *Allah SWT responded to prophet Sulaiman ASW duwa (prayer/suplication) and gave him money/Wealth*

✍ (Sheikh spent some time on this point.. deliberated on why, how, how much, and where).

📌2️⃣2️⃣. It’s the day when the *sun was created*.

📌2️⃣3️⃣. It’s the day when the *moon was created*.

📌2️⃣4️⃣. It’s the day when *prophet Yusuf ASW was saved /retrieved from the well*.

📌2️⃣5️⃣. It’s the day when *prophet Yaqoub ASW regained his sight*.

📌2️⃣6️⃣. It’s the day when *prophet Ayoub ASW was healed or regained his body.*

📌2️⃣7️⃣ It’s the day the *Quraish committed a major sin*, (a reason as to why they used to fast it to get rid of Allah’s anger)

✍ However, *according to Ssekkadde's extensive research and the vast litreture he visted* Neither History nor books make any mention of which sin.

✅🤝As such, as human, we are obliged to keep secrete our and others' sins

📌2️⃣8️⃣. It’s the day *when either Hassan or Hussein* (Pht Muhammad's grandchild) was martyred in 680AD at Karbara (Iraq).

✍ *However, we are not allowed to celebrate it fronting that view.* We Muslim don’t celebrate people's death.

➡️ *What we ought to know about Ashuurah.*

👉 Prophet (S.A.W) Fasted it in mecca with the Quraish, (before his prophet-hood)

👉When the Prophet arrived medina in 622 AD, he found the Jews fasting it claiming *it is the day when Allah saved pht. Musa ASW from Pharaoh*

Prophet Muhammad S.A.W opined, as Muslims, *we have much more attachment* to Prophet Musa (ASW) than the Jews. *He fasted it and commanded/encouraged his followers to do so and or/ a day before*.

✅ In another Hadith of Abdallah bin Abbasi, when the Prophet arrived in medina on the 10th of Muharram, *he found the Jews fasting and jubilating (as their Eid day) and said, to appear distinct from jews, he told Muslims to fast it together with either a day before or after it.* Thus; 9th (Tasuu-a) or 11 of Muharram.

✍ *Note 1*: In their religion, the Jews were allowed to fast on their Eid days unlike us Muslims where fasting is prohibited.

✍ *Note 2* ; When Ramadhan was prescribed, prophet (S.A.W) told Muslims that they were free to either fast it or not. (Its fasting become optional/sunna)

👍However, Prophet (S.A.W) advised that *we fast the 9th and 10th , to appear distinct from the Jews* and not to miss out on the peak, 10th day just in case we miscounted the days of Muhharram, a reason as to why, in another Hadith, he advised to also consider fasting the 11th day as well.

✍ *Note 3* We are *not allowed* to fast the 9th and 11th only minus the 10th.

✍ *Note 4*: We are however allowed, according to scholars, to fast the 9th, 10th & 11th This is the best, heighest level & 3rd step in fasting Ashuurah.

✍ *Note 5* It was the practice of the Salaf to give gifts to children, making them happy, feeding them with best meal, and interested (as Ssekkadde does) the coming generations of Muslims to follow suit.

✍ *Note 6* Fasting the day of Ashuurah is not only of great merits but also expiates for the sins of the past full year, provided one avoids major sins.

✍ *Note.7* If one fast the 9th (Tasuu'A) and or/ the 11th of Muhharram together with Ashuura (10th), Allah gives you rewards of those other days.

✍ *Note.8*
Clock *Sunday 06-08-2022*, after Magrib, it shall be the *9th night* of Muharram.

🙏🤝Those intending to fast *9th (Tasuu-A) and 10th, (Ashhurah)* prepare for fasting;
👍 sunday 07-08-2022 and
👍Monday 08-08-2022.

👍 11th shall be Tuesday 09-08-2022, in sha Allah.

✍ *Note; 9* pht Muhammad S.A.W fasted as many days as possible in Muharam than other months after ramadhan.

✍ *Note 10*
According to Ssekkadde, Where as these facts are mostly found in jewish (authoritative) books, islam teaches us to consider them truthfull provided they don't contradict with Islamic teaching.

Allah knows best.

May Allah give our Shiekh more quality life with ability to teach us.

May Allah enable us fast as much as many days as possible.

*SHAWAAL DAY1️⃣ Eid El-fitr💪🤝.*
Friday 21-04-2023.

*THE SUNNAHS OF EID EL-FITR*.

Asalam alykum warahumatu llahi wabarakatuh.

*Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated* with zeal and passion around the world. Muslims celebrate Eid by wearing new clothes, cooking delicious meals, and meeting their friends and relatives.

1️⃣ *Recitation of Takbeer*
Eid is started with celebrations of reciting Takbeer which we should keep reciting continuously starting from Maghrib until the next morning, when the Imam comes out for the ‘Eid prayers, *you should be saying it all the time, when you’re cooking, working, driving*… Keep saying it as much as you can. Thus;

“Allah Akbar ×3, Laa ilaha illa Allah Allahu Alkabr, Allahu Akbar walillahi Alhamudu."
*Meaning*
Allah is Most Great × 3, there is no god except Allah, Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, and all praise be to Allah”

2️⃣ *Recitation of the Quran*. It has immense importance and is encouraged by Allah . it helps us understand Allah (SWT)’s message and earn His blessings.

3️⃣ *Present Your Best Self on Eid-ul-Fitr*.

4️⃣ Perform Ghusl which is a purifying bath early in the morning before Eid Prayer.

5️⃣ *Wear your new clothes* or our best old ones but well washed and pressed.

6️⃣ Apply or use perfume (Male only).

7️⃣ *Go For Eid Prayers* The Eid prayer is the most important aspect of the day. It is a way to show devotion to Allah. Prophet Muhammad *encouraged everyone to go, men, women, children, even the women who are menstruating* are encouraged to go and listen to the prayers and khutbah.

8️⃣ You can also meet and greet your friends and relatives.

9️⃣No Nawafilah on Eid ground.

1️⃣0️⃣ *Enjoy Delicacies,* On the occasion of Eid, many sorts of delicacies are cooked in our homes. Tables are filled with flavourful, aromatic, and savory dishes.
📌 You can also host lunches and dinners for your friends and relatives.

1️⃣1️⃣. *Visit Your Family and Friends*. Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival that brings families and friends together. Make visiting old friends and relatives a part of your celebration.

1️⃣2️⃣. *Consider showing kindness to people who have done you wrong* and apologize if you have offended anymore.

1️⃣3️⃣ *Remember The Underprivileged*. Amidst all celebrations, one should never forget that not everyone is as privileged.
📌There are many families that cannot afford a decent meal even on Eid.
📌It is important to remember the needs of those who are not as privileged as us.
📌Even something as small as a good meal would mean the world to families who are struggling to make ends meet.

1️⃣4️⃣. *Donate to Charitable Organizations.* Charitable organizations around the world are trying to make this world a better place for marginalized people. They work for various causes to help the underprivileged. Eid is a great occasion to donate to charitable organizations.
📌You can donate to support an orphan, install a water treatment facility, or provide a free surgery or medical procedure.

1️⃣5️⃣. *Eat some thing light* before leaving home for Eid. especially fruits rich in glucourse. eg dates.

1️⃣6️⃣. *leaving the place where you had ‘Eid prayers by taking a different route.*

1️⃣7️⃣. *Spread greetings* (taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum).

1️⃣8️⃣. *Perform two Raka'at when you are back* from Eid (i.e at home).

1️⃣9️⃣. *Visitation to friends, families, neighbors*.

➡️ *How ‘Eid prayers are offered*

Please note:
♦️ There is no adhan,
♦️No iqamah.
♦️When the imam is reciting, you just listen and then follow through with the movements.

♦️ When the ‘Eid prayers are finished, basically worshipers should sit down and listen to the khutbah. *As a reminder for us, no talking during the Khutbah!* Just listen to the message of the imam and take in those blessings.

♦️When the khutbah has been delivered, there will probably be a flood of people who want to greet you.
➡️🤝 *The sunnah greeting that you should be saying* on eid: 👉 “Taqabbala Allah minna wa minkum”
meaning👇
(May Allah accept from us the good deeds and also from you). ♦️The easiest response to this is to say “Ameen”.

*Ohhh Allah* May the blessing we received during ramadhan be with us in this world and the hereafter.
*Ohhh Allah* bless our families, fulfill our dreams and Hope's shower our lives with joy, peace, prosperity, happiness, wisdom and guidance.

*Ohh Allah* fill our homes and hearts with laughter, happy moments and ease our plans and sufferings. *Ameeen*
