I started this business as a way to preserve the memory of my grandma Gwen and the creative outlets we shared. As I had hoped, hearing her name daily has been bittersweet and therapeutic for my soul. Through this journey of immense joy and equally as immense difficulty, I've made hundreds of hats and countless friends along the way.
One of those friends being Elizabeth. She brought in a vintage straw hat to have a sweatband sewn in before hopping on a plane to a renaissance faire and the rest was history. Somewhere amongst our classic movie nights and too many old-fashioneds to remember, she shared that learning to make hats was one of her childhood dreams. Like any good friend, I convinced her to let me teach her and to join me in the insane world of hat-making. I knew she would be phenomenal but the level of quality and creativity she's been able to achieve exceeds even my expectations.
Starting October 1st, this baby of mine will now be transitioning to Rabbit Rabbit Hat Club, if you know Lizzie at all, you'll understand why. I couldn't be more proud of the body of work she's created and I'm even more excited to see where she takes it from here. To the hat lovers out there, you couldn't be in more capable hands. There's no better timing to declare 'Rabbit, rabbit!'. Come see her down in Aberdeen or book an appointment for that custom hat you've been dreaming of.
P.S. We've got something exciting in the works for later this year to celebrate our incredible customers and to tip off this new chapter, so stay tuned!
Cheers,
