Traps and Hats Welcome to Traps and Hats where we make handmade fur hats, mittens and a variety of other items.

My husband has been trapping for predator control purposes since he was young. Then finally our 5 year old asked him one day to make her a hat with some of the fur he had tanned, so he started working on one. With lots of trial and error (and patience) he made her a pillbox c**n hat and she loved it! He then made a beaver Russian hat for her which she wore to school every day in the cold months. S

he always won the who has the warmest hat competition:)

He continued to alter his pattern and made the perfect Russian and pillbox hat pattern. He also makes other items such as gauntlet mittens and small muskrat mittens for the kids.
