Not everything that glitters is gold.

This one started off rocky, these were never the original covers I intended. The Phosphor Bronze liners did not adhere because I never cleaned the oil off of them. The original left cover got chewed up in the drill press.
These handles cracked...twice.

After all that I got it together and somewhat cleaned up, only to find I ground the spring much too thin and it had the action of a limp noodle.

Took it apart after these pictures and I will HT a new spring tomorrow.

p.s. the covers cracked again when taking it apart. 🫠
