Who knew a hot air balloon starts with a carving knife? 🎈

Before a single piece of fabric is added, I carefully carve every line into foam. Those grooves are what make Kinusaiga possible. Each fabric piece is tucked into place for a beautiful design with no sewing required.

This is one of those behind-the-scenes steps most people never get to see, and it’s so satisfying to watch!

I don’t know the story behind this order, but I’m imagining a fun craft night with friends, plenty of snacks, and everyone creating their own version of the same design. Or maybe it’s a thoughtful group gift.
Either way, I love knowing these kits are headed somewhere they’ll be shared.
If you’ve never tried kinusaiga before, think of it as paint-by-number meets fabric art; no sewing required.
