If you’ve been to the studio, no doubt the Welcoming Committee was waiting at the bottom of the stairs with his still puppy-like face to herd you towards the workroom and hopefully get some pats and scratches, especially from the kids—they were ALWAYS his favorites. Buddy absolutely LOVED meeting each and every dancer and their families, and he always hoped someone would sit on the stairs so he could lean up beside them and be showered with attention. Unfortunately, our sweet gent Buddy, a.k.a. Budders, suddenly and quickly became very ill over the past week and crossed the Rainbow Bridge early this morning while in his favorite spot. We are feeling this loss deeply, and I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do without him. Budders was always my late night sewing partner and always there to lean on my legs and lay on feet when he knew I was stressed about deadlines. He was always first to greet me in the morning with his big smile that you truly knew was a smile. He always knew when I needed to take a quick break to throw his ball and laugh at his chasing and bringing it back. He spent twelve years being the bestest of boys. Buddy was an unofficial mascot for O’Hara Irish Dance Apparel, and he is irreplaceable. This studio will be much too quiet without his tippy-taps.
