Behind the Design

Every new sample brings a little excitement.

The first thing I do is try it on and imagine how it will make someone feel.

This day, it was a navy dress inspired by the beauty of Hawaiʻi.

It’s not available just yet, but I already can’t wait to share it with all of you.

What starts as a sketch may one day become someone’s favorite dress.

Which side of Hawaii’s scenery do you prefer? 🌴

Hawaii’s scenery changes depending on where you view it from.

The northeastern side of Oahu, where the Ko’olau Mountains stretch out, is an area known as **Windward**. No matter where you look, the majestic mountain range spreads out in the background, and the appeal lies in the sense of nature’s vast scale.

French Art Story

My love for France
is as special as my love for Hawai‘i

France has been a place
I admired since I was little

and as someone with French-Vietnamese roots

French art feels deeply personal to me

There is something nostalgic
soft
and familiar about it

For this collection

I wanted to bring that feeling into my designs

so I was inspired by
Toile de Jouy

Toile de Jouy is a traditional French textile style
that became popular in the 18th century

It is known for delicate single-color illustrations
often printed on a light background

The scenes usually show
countryside life
people
flowers
animals
gardens
or romantic landscapes

It feels almost like wearing
a beautiful storybook painting

Elegant
classic
and full of quiet charm

By bringing this French artistic style
into resort wear inspired by Hawai‘i

I felt a new kind of beauty was born

フランスへの愛は

ハワイへの愛と同じくらい
私にとって特別なもの

小さな頃から憧れてきたフランス

そして

フレンチ・ベトナミーズである私にとって

フランスのアートは
自分のルーツにもつながるもの

街並みやアートに触れるたび

どこか懐かしく
心が落ち着くような気持ちになります

今回のコレクションでは

その想いを込めて

トワル・ド・ジュイ
Toile de Jouy

の世界観を取り入れました

トワル・ド・ジュイとは

18世紀のフランスで広まった
伝統的なテキスタイルデザイン

淡い生地に
一色で描かれたような繊細な線画が特徴で

田園風景
人物
花
動物
庭園
ロマンチックな景色などが

まるで物語の一場面のように描かれています

一枚の絵画を
そのまま身にまとうような優雅さ

クラシックで
やわらかく
どこか詩的な雰囲気

そんな魅力があります

ハワイの風を感じるリゾートウェアに

フランスの芸術性を重ねることで

新しい美しさが生まれました

旅や文化は

いつも新しいインスピレーションをくれるもの

The Beauty of Lei

A beautiful lei always brings me a sense of peace.

Maybe it’s because I know how much time, patience, and care go into making one.

Creating a lei is an art that takes years to master, and I have so much respect for the talented lei makers who continue to preserve this beautiful Hawaiian tradition.

What always catches my eye is the contrast of crisp white, lush green, and vibrant tropical colors.

Every lei tells its own story.

白と緑の爽やかなコントラスト

そこに鮮やかな花々の色が加わる美しさ

Finding Hawai‘i in Japan

My Hawaii Lifestyle ▶︎ NINA THAI | Hawaii Fashion

After joining one of Japan’s largest Hawai‘i events in Osaka

I was reminded once again

how many people in Japan truly love Hawai‘i

Some visit Hawai‘i often

Some feel connected through hula
music
food
fashion
and aloha

And every summer

Hawai‘i events are held in many places across Japan

Even when we are far from the islands

there are still so many ways to feel Hawai‘i close to our hearts

日本で見つけるハワイ

大阪で開催された
日本最大級のハワイイベントを終えて

改めて感じたこと

それは日本には本当にたくさんの
Hawaii LOVE な人たちがいるということ

何度もハワイへ足を運ぶ人

まだ行ったことはなくても
フラや音楽
グルメ
ファッションを通して
ハワイを楽しむ人

実は夏になると

日本のいろんな場所で
ハワイイベントが開催されています

島から離れていても

アロハを感じられる場所は
日本にもたくさんあるんですね

Sunflower days

I visited the sunflower field
in Waimānalo

A limited-time event
open for only about one month

Bright yellow flowers
blooming at the foot of the Koʻolau Mountains

It felt like stepping into sunshine

ワイマナロのひまわり畑へ

美しいコオラウ山脈を背景に

一面に広がる黄色が
本当にきれいでした

そして今回
初めて食べたのが

Grilled sunflower

ローカルの子たちが
味つきのひまわりの種を食べているのは
よく見るけれど

種の部分をグリルして食べるのは
初めて

パルメザンチーズの塩気がきいていて

意外にもおいしくてびっくり

ハワイには
まだまだ初めての体験がたくさんありますね

みなさんは
ひまわり畑に行ったことありますか
