Our last drop of the summer is here, and we couldn’t be more stoked. We had two drops planned, and since our bags arrived a week early, it just made sense to bring them together into one.

Camo Kalo, our take on camo, made of kalo, for the babies. Soft bamboo, made to be worn hard and washed often. Coveralls, tank rompers, and Kapa Moe swaddles in a green and a pink.

The Mea Collection, the bags we’ve been waiting on. Backpacks, mini backpacks, lunch totes, and holoholo totes for school drop-off, the beach, and every holoholo day in between.

New prints for the babies, new bags for the big kids. All made with aloha. Get them now before they are gone. We have no planned restocks.

Did this week go as planned? Not even close.
But did our bags surprise us by arriving this week instead of next? Yes they did!
Are we going to launch them tomorrow with our camo Kalo drop? You know it!!!

While we had all the things from an unexpected car service to AC repair and celebrating another birthday for one of our keiki and all the other things, we are so excited for this drop….

We finally made a camo print and of course we had to add some kalo

Living in Hawaiʻi, you know we love our camo, probably for a lot of different reasons.

Camo Kalo drops this Friday for the babies: bamboo coveralls, tank rompers, and Kapa Moe swaddles in a green and a pink.

Honest question: should we do camo in the big keiki sizes? Board shorts? Mesh shorts? Sun hoodies? Tell me below. 👇

We are almost sold out of the clothes, and we’re just sitting here so happy about how much you all loved it and that means so much.

Seeing your keiki in it, barefoot in the grass, snuggled up after a bath, waving hello…and hearing how many went out as gifts for that special baby, that’s the whole reason we do this. 🤍🤍🤍

So now we need to ask you (since we donʻt usually restock)…should we
👶🏽Restock the baby sizes?
🧒🏽Bring it to bigger keiki in polos and dresses?
🌊Do we need more board shorts???

Drop a comment and let us know. This helps us decide what to bring back. 🤙🏽

We’ve been sitting on this secret for 9 months.

We knew we had to move last year but it wasn’t until the beginning of May that we found out we were heading to Waiau. We actually had a whole other plan until this spot opened up and we pivoted hard.

We’re still an online shop and this is our warehouse where we fulfill your orders from. We won’t have regular hours to stop by so if you need regular retail hours, please visit one of our retail partners.

Starting in August, you’ll be able to pick up orders here or shop in person while we’re fulfilling online orders in the mornings. And you know the drill, if you see our light is on, door is unlocked and we’re inside, you are more than welcome to come in and shop.

This is our new home and we can’t wait to welcome you here.

Shop online for now at thekeikidept.com (link in bio) and stay tuned for what’s coming 🤙🏽

How did we go from having to pack up over the weekend to moving on a Monday to setting up for Hoʻomau Market and becoming fully operational in just over a week!?

Moving our warehouse was huge. If I could have stayed to avoid moving, I would have. But thank goodness I hired movers to get us to our new spot and because of that, we only had to pause shipping for 5 days!

We spent a week packing orders and figuring out what bins had what. And this past week we are figuring out how to setup the space so it’s functional.

📍Have you figured out where we moved to yet? It’s less than a mile away from our old spot.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, papas, and uncles out there!

Today we checked out of Harbor Center for the last time. Watch til the end to see our new home, it’s not too far away…👀

We walked these empty rooms one more time before we left — and the memories just kept coming.

This is where my kids grew up. Where we packed orders as they ran around and played.

It’s where we applied to Kūhana, joined We By Rising Tide, and filmed for our Mana Up Showcase. This is where we opened our warehouse doors so you could shop in person while the kids were in school.

As our biz grew, so did our ʻohana. This place held so many of our most important moments.

When you support a small, ʻohana-run business, this is what you’re a part of. We’re part of your community — and you’re part of ours. You support our kids. You’re helping raise a generation who sees, day to day, what it looks like to run a small biz in Hawaiʻi — to create with intention, and to find ways to share our culture with the world.

Harbor Center was the start of something so special for us.

We’re closing one door and opening the next.
Mahalo for being part of the ride — here’s to the next chapter.

Can you guess our new neighborhood?

In true Keiki Dept fashion, we decided to move right before one of our biggest events of the year. The timing maybe wasn’t perfect but just like with the kids and ever changing schedules or needs, we work with what we have in the time we have and we made it happen.

We closed a chapter of the Keiki Dept as we marked 10 years in biz. Harbor Center has been our home for 5 years. We took a chance on our biz and signed a lease, not knowing how it would change our lives.

I’m so happy to say we aren’t closing the doors but just opening some new ones.

Here’s to new opportunities and the next chapter of our biz…reveal coming soon

What a weekend at Ho’omau Market!!!

Mahalo to everyone who came out to the Blaisdell to see us and all the other small businesses — for waiting in line to get in, braving the crowds and for catching up and sharing all of your stories with us. I love getting to meet all of you, and seeing your keiki rock our products is so special.

This was our last big event of the year as we decided not to do Made in Hawaiʻi this year. As our keiki have gotten older, doing these events has become more challenging and it was a hard decision to make. It only seems right our send off for the year would be at Hoʻomau.

To all of you we’ve come to know over the years and the new faces we met this weekend — mahalo for showing up for us and the other businesses. There’s a lot being said about Hawaiʻi small business right now, but one thing is for sure: this market truly showcases some of the best who are out here trying to make a living while creating products that showcase our culture — and staying mindful about what we do.

Mahalo to Kailee of MahinaMade and the whole Ho’omau Market crew! Can’t wait for the next one!!!

We don’t know when our next in-person event will be, so for now, see you online.

A hui hou! Until we meet again. 🌿
