As we move toward fall, it's worth pulling out the pieces you set aside — the jacket that fits a little differently now, the dress you love but never quite wore, the trousers that are just slightly too long.

Why do formal dresses and wedding gowns sometimes need more than one fitting? 👗

Because getting a dress to fit perfectly is a process, not a single appointment.

The first fitting is for taking measurements and pinning the work. The second confirms everything and handles any small adjustments. Sometimes a third fitting is needed, especially with beaded fabric, lace, or a structured bodice.

Rushing this process can lead to results that aren't quite right. That's why I always recommend scheduling early — especially if your event is in September, October, or November.

One of the most common questions I get is: "Can you give me a price before I come in?" 💬

The honest answer is no — and here's why.

Every garment is different. The fabric, lining, construction, and the amount of change needed all affect the work. A hem on a simple cotton skirt and a hem on a beaded formal gown are completely different projects.

Once I see the garment in person, I can give you an accurate picture of what's involved.

✨ Wrapping up July with this thought.

Your clothes are not just fabric. They are how you show up in the world. They are the first thing people see, and the way you feel in them shapes your entire day.

Caring for your clothes — washing them right, storing them properly, wearing the right thing for the right place — is not vanity. It is self-respect. And it is a skill worth having.

This month we talked about color, fit, fabric care, heat damage, proper storage, and how to dress with intention. And it all comes back to one simple truth:

When your clothes fit well, are cared for properly, and match where you are going — you walk differently. You feel different. You show up differently.

Appointments are limited, and we want every bride to feel calm, confident, and beautifully ready.
