Dolly Parton wasnât just the queen of country music. She was the queen of advocacy. Through her juggernaut non-profit âDolly Partonâs Imagination Libraryâ she gifted over 300 MILLION books to children to encourage literacy and creativity.
âWhen I was growing up in the hills of East Tennessee, I knew my dreams would come true. I know there are children in your community with their own dreams. They dream of becoming a doctor or an inventor or a minister. Who knows, maybe there is a little girl whose dream is to be a writer and singer.
The seeds of these dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.â
Dollyâs legacy doesnât die with her. Her kindness can live forever within our own actions!
At Aunt Eekâs, every child gets a free book every day of the week. You can do your part by donating to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Storybridge (local), volunteer with your local library, or even drop off some gently used kids books with us for our free book program.
đ RIP Dolly Parton - thanks for making the world more colorful and kind
