Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day. Today we honor Catarina, beloved matriarch of Tony Laguda Formalwear, whose warmth, strength, kindness, and dedication helped shape not only a family business, but a place where generations of customers have felt welcomed like family. Her spirit reminds us that behind every small business are people, stories, traditions, sacrifices, and love.
Mother’s Day is about so much more than one definition of motherhood. Today we celebrate mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, stepmothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, mothers-in-law, chosen mothers, mentors, caretakers, aunties, and all those nurturing souls who guide, protect, encourage, and love others through life’s journey. Some people become “mothers” simply through the way they show up for others every day.
We also hold space today for those whose mothers are no longer with them, for those navigating difficult relationships, for those longing to become mothers, and for anyone carrying complicated emotions on a day like today. Life and family can be beautiful, messy, healing, and emotional all at once. Maybe today offers a chance for reflection, forgiveness, gratitude, reconnection, or simply appreciation for the people who helped shape us.
