50 years ago this weekend I was only barely 15. I had just completed a summer full of teenage sewing classes ✂️🧵🪡. There was a celebration in our town with a sewing competition. My mother encouraged me to enter. I walked away with every prize except 1st place. My mother was so proud of me. There were many entries and the first place winner was an older lady who made a lined blazer. I remember as if it was yesterday. Here I am 50 years later sewing Bridal formal wear and everything in between.
I worked in two bridal shops and a menswear shop before I turned 19.

Look at these two cuties! They are headed to San Francisco to get married soon. I already helped the bride with her gown. This is her shower dress I believe. I took it in and shortened it. The groom asked me to hem his pants, take in his jacket and shorten the cuffs. 🪡✂️🧵

I have not been real great about posting lately because I’ve been so unbelievably busy with bridal and formal wear. I think I have done more menswear this spring than ever before since working in a menswear store many years ago. This nice gentleman was kind enough to let me take his pictures so I can show my work. The dark wool suit was such a nice quality to work with. I shortened the sleeves and hemmed the pants. The gray suit was quite a challenge. Again, very nice quality suit, but the coat was about three sizes too big. I should have taken a before picture but I think it looks pretty good Itook up the shoulders on the vest and hemmed the pants as well.🧵🪡✂️
