✨ For the first time ever, T31 Design House & Alterations and Sumter Players teamed up to bring our community a Theatre Sewing Camp and it was magical! ✂️🎭

This multigenerational camp welcomed students of all ages and skill levels, creating a beautiful space for learning, creativity, and connection. 💫

We can’t wait to see the incredible costume accessories our campers made come to life on stage in Matilda!

T31 Design House & Alterations and Sumter Players are joining forces for a one-of-a-kind camp, July 14–18 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM!
Campers will learn hand sewing and industrial machine basics while designing and creating costumes for the upcoming Sumter Players production.

🎨 One Stitch at a Time – Youth Sewing Camp 🧵Hosted by T31 Design House and Alterations

📅 Dates:
Join us Monday through Thursday from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM Weekly sessions available:

- June 2 – 5

- June 9 – 12

- June 16 – 19

- June 30 - July 3

-July 14 - 18 Sumter Players-Theater Costumes Design

👗 What to Expect:Our "One Stitch at a Time" sewing camp is designed for youth ages 8 to 17—no experience needed! Campers will:

Learn basic sewing skills:

~Operate industrial sewing machines safely

~Complete hands-on sewing projects

~Discover how sewing applies to everyday life needs

💵 Cost: $150 per week✂️ All materials provided.

This past spring break 10 young ladies from our community had the opportunity to join our sewing camp, learning new skills and making new friends. We had a special guess Laura Bauer McConatha who talked to them about self-esteem and self-worth it was beautiful to see them enjoying and learning more about themselves.

We are very grateful for the support of our community to help make this happen , we received scholarships from organizations and individuals Laura and Barry McConatha , Don Julio Barrios , Geri Lee Nelson , Dr. April Smith, Heart of Sumter and Americus Kiwanis Club.

A special thank you to Patty Ferry for always being just a call away to help with transportation, to Mrs. Wendy Joyner Peacock for providing the girls with delicious snacks and drinks throughout the week, and to the parents and grandparents who treated everyone to pizza on our last day of camp.

We look forward to welcoming more students during the upcoming summer!
