Reflection on Jeremiah 23-24

Jeremiah 23
God rebukes the shepherds (leaders) who scatter His people. But there is a promise: a righteous Branch (Jesus) will rise from David’s line to reign wisely and bring salvation. God also condemns false prophets who speak lies, giving people false hope instead of calling them to repentance. They speak from their own hearts, not from God’s word.

Jeremiah 24
God gives Jeremiah a vision of two baskets of figs—one good, one bad. The good figs represent the exiles whom God will protect and restore, giving them a heart to know Him. The bad figs are those who remain rebellious and will face judgment. God shows that true restoration starts with the heart.

Lamentations 3:22–23 (ESV)
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

“God already knows your struggles. Your distractions. Your failures. Yet His mercy still wakes you up with purpose every morning. This prayer is a reminder that no matter how many times we fall short, His love never does.
Let today be the day you return, repent, and receive His grace.

A diamond doesn’t shine overnight—it’s formed under intense pressure, heat, and time.

The same is true with us.

God doesn’t rush His greatest work. He uses the pressure, the pain, and the waiting to shape us into who we were always meant to be.
