Today, 6-year-old Ma’Lee conquered her very first eye exam at Foley Vision Center… and she absolutely rocked it! 🎉💪

Like many kids, she wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But with a little encouragement, a few smiles, and a whole lot of bravery, she made it through like a superstar. 🌟

🎉 A big congratulations to 10-year-old Josephine on completing her very first eye exam at Foley Vision Center! 👏👓

She absolutely rocked it! 💙

Many parents are surprised to learn that children can have vision problems without ever complaining because they assume everyone sees the way they do. Regular eye exams can detect issues that may affect learning, reading, sports, and everyday life—often before anyone notices a problem.

We’re Officially Certified as Locally Owned & Operated! 🎉

I’m excited to share that Foley Vision Center has officially been certified as Locally Owned & Operated by American Operator!

This certification recognizes businesses that are truly owned and operated by local individuals—not large corporations or out-of-state investors. It’s something I’m genuinely proud of because being local isn’t just where my business is located…it’s who I am.

I was born and raised in the greater Amesbury/Newburyport area, and I’ve spent most of my life here. In fact, many people are surprised when I mention that I lived on Pamela Lane in Amesbury back in the 1970s!

Owning a local business means more than providing eye care. It means taking care of neighbors, supporting local organizations, cheering on local schools and sports teams, and seeing familiar faces everywhere I go. I don’t just work here—I live here, shop here, and raise my roots here.

🇺🇸 PSA from Dr. Foley (your friendly neighborhood eye doc and professional fun-haver):

😎 Fireworks are awesome. Eye injuries? Not so much.

Every year, people end up in the ER with burns, scratched corneas, retinal injuries, ruptured eyeballs, and sometimes permanent vision loss… all from a few seconds of “fun.”

Don’t be that guy (or gal).

👓 Wear REAL safety glasses, not sunglasses.
🎆 Keep a safe distance.
🚫 Never relight a “dud.”
🎇 Leave the big fireworks to the pros.

Because the only thing worse than a dud firework… is a dud retina. 💥👀

Have an amazing Independence Day, make great memories, and keep all ten fingers and both eyes where they belong!

Be safe. Be smart. Keep your eyes on the fireworks, not in the emergency room.
