A post I didn’t want to make but here it goes…
Sometimes after reviving a business numerous times over 10 years you just have to know when to throw in the towel. The costs of everything has made it much harder to keep customer costs low. With that being said apparel brands are hard to keep alive because there are just so many out there.
After accounting for materials and production costs, I'm left making roughly $4–$7 per shirt, before factoring in the hours spent designing, creating, and running the business.
I’m a mom of three kids who count on me and one shirt here and there just does not cut it. So, unfortunately it’s time to close the doors on TOC. It truly saddens me especially when I thought maybe the Rewind Hats really hit a niche nobody else had done. I wanted to create something you couldn't find everywhere else — original artwork, drawn by me, with a little nostalgia woven into every design.
But, unfortunately the market is saturated with ai designs, apparel business everywhere and people just cannot justify the prices I’m charging. I tried doing weekly deals- dead not a single sale or anything in months.
All existing orders will still be fulfilled and available by their expected pickup dates. Once those orders are completed, The Original Collective's website and page will become inactive.
For one last time..
