This weekend was definitely one for the books. 🤣
Now, I can honestly warn any and everyone to be prepared for anything when working and setting up for an outdoor two day event 🙃
Friday was pretty great. But it was hot, yall 🥵
Then, around 1am I had the terrifying realization that I had completely forgotten to stake down our tents. Knowing there were storms in the forecast, at that time of night, all I could do was hope for the best. 😩
Imagine my excitement when we got back to our vendor spot Saturday and realized everything was good. (Minus a couple of very lightly damp table cloths) So, we done what any logical person would do - we staked down the tents immediately. Because, well, that wind 😮💨💨
We got everything set back up and had just a little time before the gates opened. Suddenly, a big gust of wind came ripping through. Snatching not one but BOTH of our brand new tents. With me holding on for dear life 🙃
Yall, I just know that wind came straight from Kansas. Cause this had to be that same wild gust that whisks you to The Wizard of Oz.
We ended the night with no tents, some damp inventory and a heart full of gratitude. Because when I say our fellow vendors showed up and showed out - I mean that! Before I even realized how bad things were I was completely surrounded. So, thank you to each person that jumped in so quickly. Yall really saved the day! 🫶🏼
And, maybe I’m just crazy… but all-in-all this weekend was a blast. Soooo, we’ll see ya in May, Down South Rodeo 🤎
