Remembering Dolly 💔
We're heartbroken along with the rest of the world this week saying goodbye to Dolly Parton.
A few months back, this story caught our hearts — Dolly personally donated a well-worn pair of her red heels, the ones she wore recording her Rockstar album, to the East Jordan Shoe Club here in Michigan. She had a 40,000-square-foot wardrobe to choose from and still picked something personal, something lived-in, to hand to kids just learning to value themselves.
That was Dolly. Shoes were never just shoes to her — they were part of the show, part of the sparkle, part of telling the world exactly who she was before she ever said a word.
And as shoe people ourselves, we'll admit — we'll never quite understand how she spent 60 years dancing through life in those heels and made it look so easy. But what we'll miss most — the joy she put into everything, right down to the shoes on her feet.
Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for the sparkle. ✨👠

The first day of school holds so much anticipation, excitement, nerves. How is everyone doing? 📚❤️

We send our kids off hoping they’ll come home excited about a new friend, a great teacher, or something fun that happened. But we also know they might come home disappointed, frustrated, lonely, or feeling like they just don’t quite fit in. As parents, we never know what emotions will walk through the door, and sometimes the best thing we can do is listen, hug them, encourage them, and remind them that one tough day doesn’t define their whole year.
