I am honored to be featured in the IN Art Show at the Hallberg Center of Arts in Wyoming. While not winning a prize, being a finalist was still very exciting. Congrats to all the winners!

"How do you make Paper Jewelry?"

Let me show you. :)

A few things are not mentioned in the video.. Why is my water so dirty? I teach art classes and try to make the most of all of my materials. Including the dirty water from the classes I teach. This is also why the paper towels shown have a bunch of paint on them. Because it was from a class taught earlier in the day. I try to recycle everything I can.

Why is the paper pulp so blue/purple? In some of the video, the paper pulp is very blue/purple because of the paper waste used. If you wanted to recolor the mix, you can add a little acrylic paint or even food coloring to recolor your mixture.

Also, I recommend using a blender that you wouldn't use for food. Check out your local thrift shop.

A little warning, once the binders(wood glue and PVA glue are added) it gets VERY sticky. Wear gloves or enjoy peeling it off your fingers later.

I am so honored to have my work in the Anoka County Fair and get ribbons for all my work.

Today is the last day of the Anoka County Fair. Lots of really cool things to check out. My favorite treats were probably the fried pickles and Nautical Bowls.

Caption for accessibility:

About 67.9% of paper waste in the United States was recycled in 2022.

That is a number to be proud of and one we can improve upon.

As an artist, I've often observed paper products tainted with paint or glue, rendering them non-recyclable and destined for landfills.

This inspired me to find new ways to recycle non-recyclable paper waste.
