Come new to this day.
Remove the rigid
overcoat of experience,
the notion of knowing,
the beliefs that cloud
your vision.
Leave behind the stories
of your life. Spit out the
sour taste of unmet expectation.
Let the stale scent of what-ifs
waft back into the swamp
of your useless fears.
Arrive curious, without the armor
of certainty, the plans and planned
results of the life you’ve imagined.
Live the life that chooses you, new
every breath, every blink of
your astonished eyes.

Already known as a naturalist, a broadcaster, a writer, a campaigner, and such a flat-out, all-encompassing gentleman that he hobnobs with gorillas, David Attenborough has added one more string to his bow: he is now a centenarian.

Maxfield Parrish painted worlds that felt half-remembered and fully alive — cliffs glowing like embers, skies lit from within, mountains dissolving into dream.

His landscapes don’t just show a place. They open a state of mind: heightened color, deeper attention, the strange lucidity that arrives when the world suddenly feels more vivid than usual.

That’s the spirit behind G***a.
Not escape. Arrival.
A reminder to look closer, feel more, and let the moment reveal itself.

Live the moment, share the vision.

And then there is Elisha Marcus Reavis.

He survived a confrontation with seven Apache warriors by stripping completely naked, seizing two butcher knives, and running screaming across his garden toward their campfire in the dead of night. The Apache — encountering what appeared to be a flaming-haired, blue-eyed lunatic charging out of the dark with cutlery and absolutely no regard for his own life — fled and never returned. It remains one of the stranger tactical victories in the history of the Arizona Territory.

1978. Six weeks alone in the Superstition Mountains.
A desert thunder storm. An abandoned stone ranch house.
Hoofbeats outside, at 2 AM.
He awoke from a loft window and saw a horseman sitting motionless in the rain, staring straight at him.
Then the horseman dismounted.
Then he came inside.
Then he climbed the ladder to the loft.
What Paul Lowes saw by the next flash of lightning had been dead for 82 years.

Somewhere past midnight in the spring of 1978, Paul Lowes lay in a loft inside an abandoned stone ranch house deep in the Superstition Wilderness — six weeks alone, a monsoon hammering the roof, eighty miles from the nearest city.

Then he heard the hoofbeats.

What happened next is one of the most riveting ghost stories you've never heard — set against the full, bloody, sacred history of one of Arizona's most mysterious landscapes. Ancient volcanoes. Apache holy ground. A hermit who scared off seven warriors by running at them naked with two knives. A lost gold mine that has swallowed men whole for 150 years.

And a horseman who stepped over a sleeping bag and stared down at Paul from the dark.

New story live at the link in bio. Read it with the lights on. 👁

Climbing the Great Pyramid at Dawn

How a Egyptian obsession, a bass player's vision, and a priestess's invitation led me to the top of the world—and into the rest of my life.
Before you can understand why I ended up alone on top of the Great Pyramid at 4 AM in March of 1997, you need to know about Osiris.

Not the academic version—the one that lives in the myths, in the river mud, in the endless rhythm of death and renewal that pulses through Egyptian cosmology like a heartbeat.

Osiris was the first king of Egypt, murdered by his jealous brother Set, dismembered, scattered across the land. His wife Isis—magician, healer, devotee—gathered the pieces and reassembled him through love and sorcery, conceiving their son Horus in an act of ta***ic resurrection. Osiris descended to rule the underworld, judge of souls, keeper of the threshold between what was and what comes next.
