My name is Kara and I've recently moved back to the Midwest after living in 3 other states for the last 12 years. My husband and I have 2 little children and we found our heart strings were tugging us back to the Midwest and family. I am a Registered Nurse and Lactation Counselor who recently took a step back from my profession (temporarily) to do the most important job of my life, raising my chil
dren. While I am grateful for the time with them, I'm always up to something creative. I think that the handmade arts are truly remarkable, and with aging generations are somewhat being forgotten. I have nostalgia for the good old days when mom sat me down and taught me how to use the sewing machine, bake special treats, or cook an amazing meal. A Midwestern girl by Nature, Nurture, and Heart, I'm always around to lend a helping hand or answer any questions you might have about my items. I enjoy mixing old fabric with new designs and old techniques with new ingredients, I am innovative, and I can always find a use for new and old materials alike, sometimes a small scrap of fabric found at a yard sale will inspire a new color palette or a completely new project taking on a life of it's own in my work.
