Fashion Designer Rohini Bedi born in India is famous for her timeless designs and trademark wrap sari’s . She inherited her passion for design from her mother and knew what she was going to be even while studying English Honor's at University ..Her first fashion show showcasing her line was produced by her at the age of 19 whilst studying in college. She went on to design and produce quite a few m
ore even before graduating . She started designing and set up her own unit in 1986 and supplied her collection to leading stores called Intershoppe in Delhi and Bombay . ...and finally after many solo ramp débuts she set up her own store in 1988 called Madame Butterfly In one of the old prestigious hotels .. She went on to launch her brand and was very successful in the 1990’s with fashion shows happening every couple of months and she sold her line through leading boutiques in many cities in India . She then decided to showcase her line in other countries and had very successful shows in NY , Singapore and Dubai . she relocated to California and has been selling her line through her studio in Costa Mesa Orange County and now at her newly opened store called Fashion by Rohini in Little India .. Her revolutionary design of the kali sari which was a form fitted sari easy to wear and flattering to the shape of the body got her a lot of fame . Rohini Bedi is a designer who enjoys the rare privilege of presenting her country's great textile heritage to the fashion patrons of the United
States. India's Zandra Rhodes and one of the most renowned name in design from that glorious sub-continent, Rohini Bedi now lives and creates
out of California's most picturesque County : Orange County. The first designer to give structure and form to the great Indian drape technique and
mould the fabled Indian sari to modern western sensibilities, Rohini moved to the United states at the helm of her career and fame . With over a
dozen solo ramp debuts and a prolific presence in many multi brand stores in the country of her origin, Rohini decided to set up her studio in the
US in Costa Mesa, California. Making quiet inroads into this niche market, she created handcrafted Indian collections for the burgeoning Indian community that prefers to dress
traditionally on weddings, festivals and special occasions. Rohini adapted her skills in craft based, hand embellished clothing to modern
sensibilities that would suit the tastes of people living in the United states. Veritable heirlooms, her ensembles now find a presence in every prestigious wedding or function. From Manhattan to the coast of California ,
Rohini bedi enjoys a veritable exclusivity in the Couture market. Creating one of, custom designed saris, Indian tunics and skirts for her clients,
many of whom are brides to be, Rohini dips into festive colors, rich hand embroidery and weaves to create collections in shades of Fuchsia ,
flame red, emerald green and sapphire blue. Her collection comprises of a very exuberant line of formal and bridal wear. Her tryst with designing began soon after school , when she began dressing herself and her friends. Taking this passion a step further, she turned
it into her profession. She transformed traditional Indian attire into a more fashionable and westernized silhouette . After a few successful
exhibitions held across the country, she started supplying clothes to many mainstream established designer stores in New Delhi and Bombay. In 1988 she launched her own store "Madame Butterfly" in New Delhi's Heritage Hotel the 'Ambassador'. Retailing under her own label at many
couture establishments to foreign countries like Singapore, London , Dubai and USA , Rohini soon found that she loved to create clothing for the
