Here some pictures and some of the notes from public comment meeting for the Ocoee Whiterwater Center. There were a lot of people at the open comment it was a very cool meeting. The big take away was nothing changed from the start to finish line of the actual Olympic change won’t be beside an adjustment to Smiley. The big changes would be an additional play wave above Smileys and then some low water feature changes after the lower bridge.

Jimmy Carter was an outdoor lover. He helped protected the Chattooga River as a Wild and Scenic River when Governor. The world lost a great man today, is action in and out office is something that will be missed.

I think rowing the Ocoee when it gets quiet in the fall is my favorite version of the Ocoee. Also slide 5 is worth it.

This weekend I saw the good in people.
I want to thank all the amazing people we met in Asheville as we dropped off supplies. I know our truck was a little bit disorganized but the organization skills that y’all have are amazing. and
I also want to thank for allowing us and set up at their brewery. I want to thank the people that volunteered to help us load two trucks. As well as Gate City Staff and owner. I was a bit over welmed with the support on Saturday. And thank you to everyone who donated and for giving a shout out.

People still need help but thank you so much for everything you are all doing. Please remember to keep helping these groups when you can.

We are heart broken for a region we love and has loved us back. We have been trying to figure out what to do. So we’re taking donations from north Atlanta (Roswell) at on Saturday from 12-3pm. We know that is a short time frame so if you would like to donate my venmo is -penick I will be posting everything that is bought with these donations on here. If you are a business or group in Atlanta and want to gather stuff let me know and I can pick it up. We are amazed at the support the whitewater has been doing already.

The Okefenokee Swamp is one of the coolest places in the state of Georgia. A company Twin Pines is trying to mine near the swamp. Georgia legislator had a chance to stop this. They did not. Last ditch effort to get Governor kemp to stop it. Link in bio and story.

This Veterans Day we want to give a shout out to they do a great job of helping Veterans get out on the water. Whether it is teaching roll lessons or just access to boats for a peaceful day on the river these chapters all over the country help veterans all over the country get out on the water. Thank you to everyone who serves and has served!
