My love for sewing began at around age 8. I loved sewing clothes for my dolls by hand, by the time I was 12 I was sewing on my grandmother's Singer Treadle machine and making my clothes for school. I got my first electric machine in the 70's and made my families clothes and in the 80's I started sewing professionally for the House of Fabrics, in Asheville, NC. Lucille Neilson, the owner gave me a

opportunity to sewing tailored made suits for her. Lucille has taught me so much about custom sewing and helped me become the seamtress that I am today. The last nine years I have worked in the House of Fabrics doing alterations, monogramming, teaching classes and working in the store. After Lucille retired last year. It was time for me to try opening a shop of my own. So in January of 2013 I took the plunge and open my shop at 70 Woodfin Place. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful place to work.

Baby quilts have arrived. 36”X45”, perfect for crib. Soft and so pretty. I can personalize them to make them a treasured keepsake. They have beautiful scalloped borders with sweet prints. I love the animal print on the borders. Farm animals, forest animals and dinosaurs.

I will be closed for a few days. I have a herniated disc in my back. I go Tuesday for injections. Hopefully that will get me back to work.

I will not be in my shop until Dec. 17th. I am working on finishing up everyone’s monograms.

I just want to let everyone know that I will be closed until Asheville is able to get the water back on. My shop has power but no water. It isn’t possible to work all day with out a restroom. I will be working at home and meeting you by appointments to drop off you garments and pick others up. This is a terrible time for everybody. I am not sure my business can survive another time of being out of work like we did with Covid. They are saying weeks before the water is back. I have everyone’s clothes at my house now. I will call you when they are finished and schedule a time for us to meet. I am truly sorry. I feel very blessed. We have power and water and food. We had very little damage at our home and farm. So many have loss so much. My heart breaks for them. Prayers for everyone. Feel free to call. I have service, if I don’t answer, leave a message. I will call you back.
