YALA - Your Adventure Lies Ahead
Founded in Ashland, OR as a small family business in 1996, YALA has been weaving conscious comfort into every stitch of our bamboo clothing and bedding for over two decades. Coupling sustainable and ethical craftsmanship with our unbelievably soft bamboo viscose fabric, we create garments that support and grow with you through life.
YALA’s bamboo clothing resonates deeply with those who prioritize the thoughtful stewardship of natural resources in their purchasing decisions. In the highlands of China’s Sichuan Province, protected bamboo forests capture carbon, stabilize soil, and provide habitat for wildlife with minimal agricultural input. Bamboo stalks from these forests are selectively cut by hand, bringing sustainable livelihood to communities.
Once harvested, the bamboo is ground into pulp and converted to fiber using a closed-loop viscose process that recycles water and has zero industrial discharge. We dye the fiber into an array of vibrant natural tones with AZO-free dyes. The fiber is then woven into fabric and sewn into garments of unparalleled softness and style under the direction of our YALA design team.
