Absolutely gorgeous bride's basket centerpiece, from the Victorian Era, circa 1880-1910. Quadruple plate, silver basket with gilt touches and pristine pink cased glass, ruffled edge bowl. These decorative centerpieces were highly coveted luxury wedding gifts during the late 19th century. A striking piece of cased art glass featuring a deep rosy pink interior that fades gracefully into a white glass exterior. The heavily crimped and ruffled edges create a dramatic "double crimp" frame that catches the light brilliantly. Hand blown, with the pontil mark at the bottom.

The stand features an elegant overhead handle accented with ornate Victorian flourishes and a footed, pedestal-style base.

E.G. Webster & Son was a prominent American silver manufacturer founded by Elizur G. Webster in Brooklyn, New York, in 1859. The exact name variant seen here was utilized from 1886 until 1928, when the family sold the brand name and production lines to the International Silver Co. Pieces stamped with this specific spider-web graphic typically date back to the late Victorian era through the early 1900s.

Excellent Condition ~ No chips, cracks or flea bites on the glass bowl ~ Bowl sits snugly into the basket ~ Silver basket shows previous love and condition is indicative of age and history, may not polish up, left as found as the contrast is lovely ~ The gold accents were a later addition, but are also lovely and give a unique character to the set
