No. 5 - The Yellowhammer Sweater
Our beloved state bird of Alabama consistently appears in the collection in subtle ways. As creatives, inspiration will strike without warning and oftentimes in ways unexpected. Ellie, on our design team, rendered a spontaneous sketch in sharpie on a T-shirt from the office- it didn’t take much time for it to evolve from there.
“What I really love about this design is how the artwork is knit into the sweater. The way these are made is very thoughtful of trying to get as much details in the artwork as possible while keeping the weight of the garment light and comfortable. The detailed intarsia jacquard technique uses multiple colors, balancing yarn weight to keep the garment light and comfortable. It turned out to be something we are really proud of, thanks to its artistic impact and technical craftsmanship.” - Ellie
As for Billy, our friends Jack and Judy were kind enough to stop by the studio and sport this special piece.
“Judy has been the spirit messenger of the Muscle Shoals music legacy. Her long time marriage to founding member of The Swampers, legendary bassist David Hood, has given her rare insight to the history of the recording scene in our area- She’s been a true rockstar!” - Billy
Worn by: Jack Underwood and Judy Hood
