🏆🥈 NATIONAL RUN COMPLETE.
Unfortunately, we came up just short and finished 2nd place at AAU Nationals.
Three months ago, this group came together with one goal—to compete at the highest level. In just 3 months of coaching these 3rd graders, we fought our way through the biggest stage in youth basketball, went 6-0, and earned a spot in the AAU National Championship game.
To my boys, I couldn’t be more proud of y’all. A lot of teams never made it to the last day. A lot of teams didn’t go undefeated. A lot of teams never got the opportunity to play for a National Championship. But WE DID.
We walked away with silver medals around our necks and a National Runner-Up trophy in our hands. That’s something nobody can ever take away from this group.
This loss definitely hurts. It’s hard knowing you feel like the odds weren’t stacked evenly and that the championship came against a proven 4th-grade team playing down in the 3rd-grade division. That’s a tough pill to swallow, and it makes this one sting even more.
But I’m choosing to remember the bigger picture. These boys represented our program with heart, toughness, discipline, and pride. They never quit. They competed every possession, every game, and they earned the respect of everyone who watched them play.
This is not the end—it’s only the beginning. We’ll learn from it, grow from it, and use this feeling as motivation. Nobody will outwork us.
Thank you to every parent, family member, and supporter who believed in us throughout this journey. And to my players…hold your heads high. Y’all are National Runner-Ups, and that’s an accomplishment to be proud of.
The Reapers will be back!💀🏀
