😩Rough weekend.

Due to a vehicle issue, we were unable to participate in Lincoln Park Mayfest as we originally planned. We were stranded in Sweetwater, TN most of the weekend. I can't remember the last time we missed an event, but this one was unavoidable. Damn sure tried to make a way.

To all our customers from the Chicago area who always support us when they see us down south in Atlanta or the Gullah or at Sea Breeze in Florida......our apologies.

I know we proudly and confidently said..."We Coming to The Chi" this year despite my usual "I don't cross the Mason Dixie or the Mississippi" response. SMH...it wasn't meant to be....🥲.

Anyway....we still coming to Chicago for something soon, one way or another, when the schedule permits. All this did is p**s me off and make me want to go more.

Ohh....Thanks to Esmeralda at for giving us a window to get back on track before the vehicle diagnosis shifted and all hope was lost.

On to the next.......

One of our customers shared this photo of herself wearing one of our hats! What color y'all call this?

I usually say light green but some customers say lime and others say chartreuse.

What y'all call it?

The bag in this photo is one of our handmade pieces from Madagascar. The base is woven raffia, but the colored stripes on the exterior are Malagasy silk and it doesn't look or feel the way most people expect silk to.

It comes from the landibe moth, native to Madagascar's highlands, which feeds on tapia trees rather than mulberry. The result is a matte, beautifully textured silk that feels closer to fine linen than to satin.

Bags, scarves, and apparel are all woven from it.
