Colorful skies are returning to Downtown Pensacola this fall! 💙💜💗💛
UWF Museum Plaza will be full of color when a 10,000 sq. ft. Magic Carpet, inspired by traditional mosaic art, takes flight overhead. How can we ever thank and ACE Pensacola enough for the generous grants they provide to fund arts and cultural events like this one?
Featuring 48,000 translucent rectangles of vivid color painstakingly stitched together with wire filament, the Magic Carpet will give us the opportunity to showcase our local culture and arts scene to the max beginning November 2, and to create a space for art shows, live music, theatrical performances, fitness events, celebrations, outdoor dining, cultural gatherings and more under a skyborne work of art created by internationally renowned Impactplan Art Productions. Check out this similar public art project they created in Águeda, Portugal. (Fun fact: They also designed the Umbrella Sky Project for downtown Pensacola in 2017 ☂️)
