September is already looking a little bit like controlled chaos over here. 🤍

Back to school, football under the lights, lacrosse sidelines, bonfires, movie night snuggles, welcoming sweet baby Josephine, celebrating 15 years of us, Liam turning 14, and somehow still living in construction mode through all of it.

I’m also really looking forward to getting back into our routines — cooking for my crew, slower mornings after drop-off, girl coffee dates, and finding those little pockets of normal in the middle of a very full season.

It’s busy. It’s loud. There are cleats everywhere, calendars packed full, and blankets permanently living on the couch. But this is the kind of season I know I’m going to miss someday.

And over in the shop, things are starting to look a whole lot more like fall — velvet, bows, pumpkins, spooky cuties and all the Halloween magic slowly taking over my work table.

The big things, the little things, the ordinary nights in between — I’m trying really hard to soak all of it in.

School starts Monday here and I’m feeling exactly how I do every year… so ready to get everyone back into a routine and also already a little sad that the house is about to get so quiet. 😂

Summer with three kids is equal parts I love having you all home and why is someone asking me for a snack again? So yes, I am very much looking forward to my coffee staying hot, getting back into my workday, and possibly finishing an entire thought without being interrupted. 🤣

But then I look at them and remember how quickly these summers keep going by, and suddenly I’m not quite as ready as I thought I was. 🥹

So tomorrow’s market is a little bit of everything I’m feeling right now.

✏️ The last of our Back to School collection — including these brand new pencil scrunchies that would make the cutest little last-minute teacher gift.

✨ Bows, clips and hair glitter so your kiddos can walk into that first day feeling extra special.

🍂 The beginning of all my cozy fall things.

👻 And, because apparently I have zero ability to patiently wait for October, a few spooky cuties are coming with me too.

A lot of you have already sent your kids back to school, while some of us are soaking up these last couple of days before Monday. Either way, I hope the new school year brings them good teachers, good friends, lots of confidence… and maybe gives us moms approximately 17 minutes of peace and quiet. 😂💛

Today in my little corner of Velvet Jean ✨

I spent the day making something new — these adorable little market bags for our mini market shoppers and I am totally obsessed with how they turned out. 🥹

They’re reversible, with a sweet little print hiding inside, and some even match our Made for Mom flower carriers — because a tiny matching market moment was apparently something we needed. 😍

There’s something I love about seeing the pieces of this little business come together here — fabric everywhere, bows waiting to be finished, new ideas taking shape, and usually at least one project I definitely wasn’t planning to start that day. 😂

Football fields, summer nights, fresh flowers, little wishes, date nights, handmade things, and squeezing every last drop out of summer.

August always feels like a little bit of everything — holding onto summer while everything around us starts shifting toward fall.

Some days are for creating. ✂️🌼

Today I’m putting the finishing touches on my last flower carrier for tomorrow’s market, sewing a few more capes, and mixing up fresh hair glitter before I pack the car.

Every stitch, every sparkle, and every little detail is made by hand in this tiny corner of my home. I can’t wait to share it all with you tomorrow!

One of my favorite parts of summer is leaving the market with a bouquet in hand. I wanted to create something that makes bringing those flowers home just a little more beautiful.

These handmade Flower Carriers are designed to wrap around your bouquet, carry it home with ease, and be used again and again.
