Deployment Update (Aspen Acres):

While our trucks and staff from the Gold Mountain Fire have returned and are recuperating, our crew as Aspen Acres is on their Last Work Day of their 14-day assignment. The Incident Management Team has requested our medic unit remain on the fireline, so a new crew is headed out tonight to take up the next deployment period.

Good luck to the new crew, and welcome home to the old!

At 12:39 am Sable Altura Fire was dispatched to a report of a rescue needed for a person stuck in a confined space, in a vertical shaft, appx 60ft down. Sable units arrived on scene and built a complex rope system to manage the vertical rescue.
At 01:14 am a Sable rescuer entered in the hole and made contact with the trapped party. At 01:45 the victim was safely rescued from the shaft.
At 02:13 command was terminated and all Sable units were clear and in-service. Thank you to Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office for the assistance.

Deployment Update:
Brush 48 and Brush 49 are close to the end of their 14 day deployment for the Gold Mountain Fire. Medic 42 is 11 days in on the Aspen Fire. Stay safe and see everyone here soon.

With a majority of our Technical Rescue staff deployed to the Gold Mountain and Aspen Acres fires, we appreciate the help of South Metro Fire Rescue on this call. Sable Altura has the patient in our care.

We urge people to stay out of these unsafe and incredibly dangerois spaces, regardless of how experienced they feel they are.

While it is illegal and the Sherriffs Office will aggressively pursue charges...the risks to safrty as well as short and longterm health effects are too great to accept.

Firefighters are working to rescue someone from a confined space at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds Wednesday morning, the South Metro Fire Rescue said.

Brush 48 and Brush 49 have started day 6 at the Gold Mountain Fire. The work continues as structure prep and mitigation work is done, along with patrolling the fire line. At the end of the day both trucks will return to camp and tent city.
