My 9-5 employer gave me a day off. What have I been doing? Beading and sequinning while watching Netflix, of course! It took me a try or so to figure out the spacing on this, but I really like it. One cuff down, now for the second cuss, the shrug body edge, and the skirt hem. You're looking at the tip of the iceberg here.

I've been meaning to post an update on this shrug and tribal skirt combo for a bit now. The 4-way stretch velvet burn-out was just as difficult as I thought to work with (very difficult!) But since each piece only has 1 to 2 seams each, it wasn't miserable. Blue beads and sequins are in the mail. Stay tuned!

Friday afternoon I thought to myself "I would love to have a bolero shrug pattern in my library. That should be easy." I draped, I then flat patterned, I tested, I revised, I prototyped every change, and I realized that this simple piece took a lot longer than I thought. This is the final folded in half down center back. It looks like a stingray to me. While it took longer than I thought, I thoroughly loved every minute of it. Stay tuned for the finished product!
