At 79, E.C. went on a camping safari in Botswana. Her prolapse surgery had failed after 13 years, and the trip meant 20 hours of flying, bush planes, and truck rides through the bush every single day.

She packed her Hem, which she calls her "magic underwear," and wrote to our founder Lauren when she got home: "I am thrilled to report that my MU functioned perfectly. Oh, yes, we did see amazing animals and birds very close up, gorgeous scenery, fiery sunsets, and starry skies."

Thank you for sharing this with us, E.C. Shop Hem at hemsupportwear.com

"Shapewear made things worse." We hear this from women of every age, and it makes sense once you know how shapewear is built.

Shapewear squeezes your middle. That pressure can push down onto the pelvic floor, and if you're already feeling heaviness or a bulge, more downward pressure is the opposite of what you need.

Hem works from below. A patented support hammock in the gusset lifts and cradles, with gentle compression to keep it where it belongs through a full day.

Here's a quick look at how Hem works: hemsupportwear.com/pages/why-hem

The first myth is the one we hear most. A lot of women assume prolapse is something that happens right after a baby, so when the heaviness turns up at 47, or at 58, it doesn't occur to them that it could be the same thing.

It can be. Hormone shifts around perimenopause and menopause change how the pelvic floor feels, and that happens whether or not you have had children.

The second assumption is the one that costs the most time. Common and normal are not the same thing, and a heavy, dragging feeling is worth saying out loud to your doctor or a pelvic floor PT, even if you have been quietly managing it for years.

Then there is the list. Women in this community are still hiking, still lifting, still getting on planes. That list tends to get shorter in your head long before it gets shorter in real life.

Tell us which of these four you believed the longest. Someone scrolling past is believing it right now, and your comment is what finds her.

By four o'clock the heaviness has usually shown up, and it isn't the only thing that's tiring.

There's the standing through a meeting you weren't sure you could stand through. The pause before lifting the box, working out whether to do it yourself or ask. Knowing where every bathroom is in a building you've visited twice. Doing the math on the drive home before you've even left your desk.

None of that lands on your calendar. It gets done anyway, all day, quietly, and then you get home worn out in a way the day doesn't seem to explain.

That work is real, and carrying it doesn't mean you're managing this badly.

It does get quieter once you can see your own patterns written down, which days tend to run heavy and what sets them off, because then you're not starting from scratch every morning.

Our Pelvic Health Symptom Tracker is free, comment "TRACKER" and we'll send it right to you. And if you want to tell us which part of your workday is hardest on your pelvic floor, we read every one of those.

Jane had prolapse symptoms before she was ever pregnant. Two babies later they were worse, and she had stopped feeling confident about moving the way she wanted to.

She's 33, she has two kids, and she likes lifting weights. What she kept hearing was that it's just what happens after kids, that she should try more Kegels, that it was probably nothing.

It wasn't nothing.

She found us, tried a few sizes, and landed on the Straight Large in The Original. She wears them for lifting and for long walks, and she says they're very supportive.

Nobody had told her that pelvic heaviness can start before pregnancy. She spent years assuming this was just her life now, and that's the part that stays with us.

If it sounds like your life too, our size quiz takes about two minutes and there's no pressure attached. And if Jane's story is one a friend needs today, send it to her.
