You asked, and we listened! We're excited to announce a shift in our shop hours, including Saturday hours for those who can't make it in during the week. 🎉🎉

Starting 10/10, because it felt lucky, will be open Saturdays from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. And starting on 10/12, Mondays will officially be our new day off.

A quick reminder for Saturday shoppers: our exterior doors will remain locked, so please call when you arrive and we'll come meet you at door 7.

Thank you, as always for your continued support for helping us save the good stuff from historic buildings throughout Austin and Central Texas. We're so grateful to keep doing this work with you.

We've shared a few sneak peeks of this house, but now it's time to see this 1949 mid-century modern home in all its glory.

Warm wood paneling, a window wall opening to the backyard, a wood-burning stove, and some specialty cabinetry (yes, including a fish tank!).

Modern finishes meet natural elements for a home that feels warm and open. Come visit to see these saves in person!

We recently visited our friends NorEast Architectural Antiques in Southampton, New Hampshire and were blown away by the range of material in their space, including pieces dating back to the 1700s.

What stood out the most wasn't just the age of the material but how different regional building traditions shape what gets salvaged.

New England's older architecture is rooted heavily in English traditions like Georgian and later styles like Federal and Greek revival. While Central Texas reflects a mix of Mexican, Spanish, German and anglo-american influences along with later styles like Spanish, colonial revival, Craftsman tutor and mid-century modern.

We have access to two significant architectural pieces from an early mid-century home here in town, circa 1947, that are too special to lose. The house is a great example of Texas modernism with numerous swanky moments.

The pieces in question are unfortunately too large to be brought into our store room and need committed homes. We're wanting to save the best of this residence before its chapter ends.

- Iron spiral staircase (1950s addition)
- Square Cinderella tub (1940s American Standard)

Due to the nature of needing to rehome directly from the site and purchaser pickup required, we're able to offer both items at a reduced market price. Proceeds received will primarily go towards covering the labor cost required for our team to safely remove the items.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Ryan and team have been busy with lots of new salvages recently and we're excited to bring new inventory to the store. It's especially impressive when you think of how hot it has been in Texas. 🥵

But we love what we do and we thank you all for being a part of it. Thank you Rambler for keeping us hydrated in this weather.

We just pulled a huge batch of hardware from an early mid-century Austin home, nearly 80 years old and it still sparkles with just a little scrub.
