On a soft cream background, large cherry blossoms stand out vividly. The outfit is completed with a matching cherry blossom motif obi, a delicate cherry blossoms obi-dome accessory, and even a collar embroidered with blossoms - making this a true cherry blossom ensemble from head to toe. The model has recently fallen in love with the world of kimono and is now completely hooked, so she dressed herself very nicely for the show!

2025年の大分日本祭りで行った着物ファッションショー、9着目も「4月」、桜がテーマのコーディネートです。やさしいクリーム色の地に、大胆に描かれた大きな桜が印象的な小紋。桜柄の帯に、繊細な桜の帯留め、さらに桜の刺しゅうが施された半衿まで合わせ、まさ「頭からつま先まで」桜尽くしの装いに仕上げました。モデルさんは最近すっかりきもの沼にはまっていらっしゃるということで、自装で出演してくださいました。お着付けが丁寧で、とても綺麗な仕上がりでした。

Kimono #8 for the fashion show @ Oita Japan Festival 2025 represents April - the season of cherry blossoms. This is a semi-formal tsukesage-homongi that my friend Naoko kindly lent me for this show. This bright blue brings to mind cherry blossoms in full bloom against a clear spring sky, beautifully paired with a softly colored floral obi. The model used to study traditional Japanese dance with my daughter, so she has wonderful posing skills, and we were also happy to have her mother help with the dressing.

This outfit symbolizes a box of chocolates, featuring a dark brown komon paired with a red obi partially covered with lace. It is styled with a heart-pattern han-eri, pink obi-jime and obi-age tied in a bow, and brown pumps. The model learned to dress herself specifically for this show and proudly wore the kimono on her own. The obi-jime and obi-age styles styled by herself!

The model, who is also my kimono dressing student, dressed herself, beautifully showcasing the skills she has been learning.
