Spent the day at Lone Star Quilt Study Group in La Grange, Texas enjoying these fabulous quilts from the collection of Quilts, Inc! We also had a wonderful show and tell, a great lunch and good fellowship with like-minded quilt historians and enthusiasts. Plan to join us early next year for our next meeting!

I’m getting partially blocked in a weird way starting last evening. It suddenly says you’re all caught up and then there is nothing more to see! Anyone else having this problem?

Thought I would show of my Halloween quilt. It is hanging in the dental hygiene room at my husband’s dental office. Many of the fabrics are glow in the dark! It garners many compliments from the patients!

My friend Jamie Forehand and her daughter visited my Mountain Mist quilt exhibit at the Texas Tech university Museum in Lubbock, TX now being exhibited until early December! I am so thrilled to see how the quilts are hung and can’t wait to get there to see them in person! I will be giving a talk on November 10th about my collection. Hope you will go to see it!

This always happens when my mind has been so amazingly stimulated with ideas, images and creativity! Spent a glorious 2 days virtually attending the American Quilt Study Group Seminar and just being awash in new information and glorious quilts! What a way to be able to have a seminar when it was thought we might not! And yes, it’s almost 4 AM! Anybody else get this way? Was anyone else at AQSG and I missed them in sessions?

I suppose how this could have anything to do with quilts but this is quilt history! We woke up one day to find these infesting our stand of cactus! Upon closer examination, we discovered that these are cochineal beetle eggs! Yes, the same cochineal that makes such a lovely red purple dye! Cochineal has been used for centuries as a dye. Hubby looked it up and confirmed the beetle. First in our yard in 27 years. They are usually found a bit farther south.
