I always loved watching y’all grow up, especially seeing young men become who they’re meant to be.

Hold on to your loved ones, man. Sometimes today really be the last time you see someone, and that’s the part that’s hard to accept.

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

As this blessed month of Ramadan begins, I turn my heart fully toward You, Ya Allah, seeking nearness, forgiveness, and sincerity. Grant me the strength to grow stronger in my faith, deeper in my patience, and more mindful of You in every moment. Help me to see Your wisdom in every struggle and Your mercy in every hardship.

Ya Allah, fill my heart with peace, clarity, and understanding. Cleanse me of what weighs on my soul and guide me to what pleases You. Allow this Ramadan to be a time of renewal, discipline, and true transformation.

Have mercy on my mother, forgive her shortcomings, expand her grave, and grant her a place among those who are shaded by Your mercy. Elevate her rank in Jannah and reward her for all that she gave in this life.

Ya Allah, guide me so that my children see in me a man who strives, repents, and continues to try for Your sake. Make me an example of perseverance, humility, and faith for them.

Forgive me for anyone I have wronged, knowingly or unknowingly. Place forgiveness in their hearts toward me, just as I seek Your forgiveness from You.

Ya Allah, lead me to where You want me to be. Keep me firm upon the straight path, accept my fasting, my prayers, and my intentions, and allow me to leave this Ramadan better than I entered it.

Ameen.

From diapers to push-ups, from football to fear, tears, and steering wheels—watching you grow has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. I’m so grateful you’re here, bringing smiles, laughter, and love into my world.

For 18 years, smashing birthday cakes has been a tradition I hold close to my heart. I don’t know how many years I’ll get to watch you grow and smile, but these moments—these memories—mean everything to me.
