Good news! I completed my first solo tufa casting without burning the house down! It’s a Sterling silver sunflower on a 16” x 4mm Sterling Omega chain. Many thanks to Master Silversmith Darryl Dean Begay for his instruction and encouragement.

My first Cowgirl hat…with a custom hat band. The stones are Royston turquoise (S) with Sterling and Fine silver settings on an adjustable leather band.

This beautiful natural Montezuma Royston stone from the Otteson Brothers mine decided it wanted to become a ring. Set in Sterling and fine silver, it is handmade by me in a size 9-3/4. If you’re interested in purchasing it, DM me for details; if it doesn’t sell, I guess I’ll have to keep it for myself!

Beneath each larger stone, I inscribe a word or symbol of faith, hope, or love. This one says, “Blessing.” Why not? This is a rare natural Nevada Blue stone, mined in the 70’s. Prized for its hardness and gem-quality, this rare Shoshone Range deposit is no longer actively producing due to its remote, difficult-to-reach location. The silver surrounding the stone is called a Column Bezel and requires a very tedious and time-consuming process. I learned (“am learning”) this technique from my good friend and mentor, Darryl Dean Begay, an internationally acclaimed Navajo Master Jeweler and stone specialist.
