🧪💧 Did you know that the best hormone test depends on how your hormones are being taken?

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that bloodwork is always the best way to measure hormone levels. In reality, the best test depends on how your hormones are being used—whether they're taken as a cream, a capsule, or another form.

For patients using topical hormone creams, saliva testing provides valuable insight into the hormone levels reaching the tissues—where those hormones are actually doing their job. For patients using oral hormone therapy, serum (blood) testing is also an appropriate way to evaluate hormone levels. The key is choosing the testing method that best matches the way the hormones are being delivered.

🎥 In this video, Holly and Tami explain why they use different testing methods for different situations, why they trust ZRT saliva testing for topical hormone therapy, and why making thoughtful, gradual adjustments is so important.

At The Medicine Store, hormone therapy isn't about chasing numbers—it's about using the right tools, interpreting them correctly, and helping patients feel their best with a personalized approach.

If you'd like to learn more about our BHRT Collaborative Care Program, visit our website to see how our collaborative approach works and how we use hormone testing to help guide therapy.

🌸📊 Hormones are always changing—and that's exactly why we believe in tracking trends, not making assumptions.

In this video, Holly shares another part of her personal lab journey, looking at her FSH, LH, and testosterone levels over time.

One of the biggest surprises? As her body progressed through perimenopause, her testosterone didn't go down—it actually increased, even though she wasn't taking testosterone.

That's a great reminder that hormones don't work in isolation. Age is only one piece of the puzzle. Stress, metabolism, overall health, and lifestyle all play a role.

🎥 Watch this video to see why regular lab testing can provide valuable insight into what your body is actually doing—rather than guessing based on symptoms alone.

Stay tuned for more of Holly's personal lab trends and the lessons they've taught her.

🧬📊 This is exactly why Holly is so passionate about tracking lab trends—not just individual lab results.

In this video, Holly shares part of her own health journey.

Years ago, her TPO antibodies were over 2,600, and she simply wasn't feeling like herself. Over time, through consistent lifestyle changes and supporting her overall health, those levels have come down to around 40–50. During that same time, her vitamin D improved from 20 into the 50s.

These changes didn't happen overnight, and they weren't the result of one magic solution.

🎥 Watch this video to see why looking at your lab trends over time can tell a much bigger story than a single test ever could.

This is just Part 1—stay tuned as Holly shares more of her personal lab trends and what she's learned along the way.
