Shop update! My Etsy will reopen March 1st with ready-to-ship items, preorder slots for Summer commissions and fabric sales!
February I’m taking time for rest and creative projects and very few commissions for spring. I’m no longer taking any spring deadlines. While my wallet would prefer taking as many orders as I can, I am enjoying the slower pace so I can take time for personal projects and offer my current clients more attention to detail 💕

Releasing more photos and details of my Sheetlejuice as part of the :)

The coat was inspired by the musical, with the different stripes hand drawn or painted as many of the costume designs in the show are.

The skirt brings the element of bling, reminding us that It’s Showtime and BJ never fails to make a statement. The asymmetrical pattern symbolizes the perspective that not everything is going to be perfect, just as the show teaches us. Sometimes life throws us curveballs but we have to wear it with confidence. The sheer sleeve is just a little nod to the fact that the ghost with the most always has something up his sleeve.
Extra little details pay tribute to characters: from Lydia’s safety pins to Miss Argentina’s rhinestones.

Everyone! Thank you for your response to my take on Beetlejuice’s iconic coat. I will be posting more pictures later along with a breakdown of why I chose the design I did, but in the meantime here are some details about the coat:
The original fabric was just black and white 2inch stripes. I hand drew smaller stripes before sponge painting the weathered look. Once dried it was time to add a dozen different trims to provide dimension. Once I had the coat all assembled and looking gorgeous… it was time to splatter green paint all over it! 😳 with some added glitter and rhinestones (and a little tribute to Lydia with the safety pins) the coat was complete!
