Penny Print Studio – a community-driven print shop in Bayfield, WI. We print, sew, make small-batch goods, nurture kids’ creativity, and celebrate original art.

Partner artists earn 10% commission on in-house prints. As a child I was a fish out of water in math and science classrooms. I didn’t want to solve problems I couldn’t hold. I didn’t want to cut the slippery sad frog. I dreaded gym. I never understood why I was asked to catch large plastic objects hurled at my face. But in the art room, in the art room—I was home. Throughout my teens and young adulthood, I sought creative spaces and had the privilege of finding artists who taught me the importance of consistent exploration. And now, here I am (for the first time)—I am starting a business. I’m going to open a space. It’s a small space in a once vacant building. It’s not on the main drag and the door🚪still needs to be cut but it is downtown in our beloved small community of Bayfield, WI.

✨Penny Print Studio✨will consist of a retail space and art classroom. We will provide sceenprinting, artisan goods, and educational opportunities for locals and tourists. And when I refer to, “we” and “our” I mean Abe and myself. If you know us, you know we have a hard time standing still. Change and creativity are our constants. So as much as it might be my voice you hear from on here, this endeavor would not be possible without my partner and best friend,

I hope we can make a safe space for youth and adults. A home where artists are paid for their work and elevated for the courage it takes to be a maker. The “weirdos” of the world that feel paint is water, colour is landscape, and materials are hope. Thank you for visiting!

One of our favorite weekends is just around the corner, and we love, love, LOVE the design this year!!! 🍁🍏
As we head into fall, it felt fitting to choose an animal that represents gentleness—a little reminder to turn inward, slow down, and rest into the quieter season ahead. (Only after AppleFest, of course. 🍎)
This design came together piece by piece, with collaborative magic. I sketched out several different elements and then sent them off to one of my favorite artists, .toloveagain who has this magical way of making every line dance. She brought it all together and put the true spark into it. ✨

The new and returning customers really have me feeling sentimental this time of year. It was another great summer season, and I’m genuinely humbled that people keep finding us—and keep coming back.

North is calling. ✨

As you roll the windows down, you notice your breathing slow. It’s just a memory now, but in a few hours it will be all around you.

North.

Where lights dance among the stars and moonlight shimmers across the lake. Where forests are deep enough to get lost in, and blooms are swept away in the breeze.

Lucky visitors catch glimpses of snowshoe hare, fox, coyote, makwa, fawn, painted turtle, and Polyphemus moth. Pathways wind through trails you’ll want to remember long after you’ve left.

And as you press the gas pedal a little harder, all you can think about is north.

North is calling, and the only plan is to answer. ✨
