A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the registered angler weighing in a tournament "Grand Slam" consisting of at least four (4) of seven (7) eligible tournament species: Striped Bass, Bluefish, Kingfish, Tautog, Fluke, Red Drum and Weakfish. The most individual species entered by the end of the tournament wins. Tie will be broken by total weight.

DAILY REPORT (8/31/2026) by Jingles

On this last day of August, we started with a bit of sun this morning here in Beach Haven but now the clouds are moving in and we may have a chance for a shower. The wind right now is mild coming from the NNE at about 5mph. Currently the surf is calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is about 76°. The air temp is currently 72° and heading to 75°.

The bay is calm and 75.6°.

Low tide is at 4:25AM and 4:54PM. High tide is at 10:24AM and 10:44PM.

The fluke fishing has still been very active, but still with mostly shorts. Don’t get me wrong, anglers are catching keepers but not as many as they would like! We still have one more month for fluke season and we are seeing some bigger fluke being caught. Most of the keepers are coming from the ocean but still hearing a few big ones out back from the crew over at Lindy’s. On the surf, Jon said he was catching 3-7 short fluke each morning and then on Saturday he finally got the 18″ keeper! The surf also has kingfish and starting to hear of some bigger bluefish too!.

18 YELLOWFIN IN THE BOX!

Had an awesome group of veterans out with us yesterday and put together an absolute banner of a day trip offshore, coming home with our six-man limit of yellowfin!

The tuna fishing is ON right now, and if the current trend continues, it’s only going to somehow get better. More waves of fish should continue to push west, and September and October are shaping up for some of the best tuna fishing of the season.

We still have a handful of September and October dates available. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get offshore for yellowfin, this is it.

DAILY REPORT (8/27/2026) by Jingles

It’s a mostly sunny, warm morning here in Beach Haven! The wind right now is coming from the S at about 11mph. Currently the surf is calm with 1-2 foot waves. You will need about 3-4oz to hold. Beach Haven water temp is about 75°. The air temp is currently 79° and heading to 80°.

The bay is calm and 74.8°.

Low tide is at 1:58AM and 2:05PM. High tide is at 7:59AM and 8:10PM.

We still have one more month for fluke season and we are hearing of some bigger fluke being caught. The majority are still shorts but some keepers coming in too. Early in the week, Mark Bartlett brought in this nice 3.2 # and 20.25″ keeper. I think your best bet is out at the reefs but got word of a nice sized fluke that was just caught out back in the bay. On the surf, there has been a lot of fluke action but again, mostly shorts. Also hearing of more kingfish and anglers are also reporting cocktail blues.

Felt good to get back into the tunas after a slower week! We ended up going 4/6 on some nice-class yellowfins yesterday, with some decent mahi to top off the box!

We still have some availability in mid-September and October. The chunk bite should hopefully really start heating up around then, similar to last year, with some great yellowfin fishing once the water temps start to cool down. Once November rolls around, we’ll be looking for bluefin and striped bass to keep the action going!

Don’t wait until the last minute to book — these dates will fill up quickly once the fishing really gets going. If you’re looking to get out this fall, now’s the time to lock in your date!

One of the coolest parts about offshore fishing is never knowing what you might catch. Here’s an absolute stud of a NJ mahi from the other day! This fish measured out at about 55”.
