Textile Lab

Textile Lab Textile Lab is a design and consulting company focused on ethical textile design and regional produc Textile Lab is a design and consulting company.

We design yarns and textiles that connect designers to fiber producers and mills to help grow an economically diverse textile supply ecosystem. The resources that we provide give designers agency to make better decisions about their social and environmental investments. Our textiles embody deep value through our sourcing and production practices. The fibers we use are grown on healthy, climate ben

eficial soil within our region, and we partner with mills and manufacturers that are local, transparent, and ethical. NY textile Lab believes that the worlds textile production should grow out of abundant, regenerative systems that emerge through collective thinking, rather than centralized systems that rely on extraction, scarcity and competition. Connect to the textile supply ecosystem with NY Textile Lab and thrive.

Thank you, friends for supporting our work and the Climate Beneficial Verification program.

When you purchase from us, youโ€™re helping small growers in our region implement practices on their farms that are optimized to store carbon in the soil.

Youโ€™re also supporting the growth of economic systems that are bioregional, cooperative and distributed.

Together, we can work to build new models that move us away from centralized, extractive systems to models that steward the environment and distribute resources equitably.

Weโ€™re at the beautiful Stone Barns Center selling our gorgeous Climate Beneficial Verified products and promoting our federally funded Wool Quality Improvement program that weโ€™re overseeing here in NYS with Fibershed

Come by and support our regional farm partners and learn how weโ€™re growing a distributed, bioregional economic model for our textiles here in NYS.

We work with other small brands in a cooperative to purchase fiber. By working together, we distribute the cost and share the risk of making regional yarn. A portion of our membership fee puts resources back into Carbon Farm Planning. This is a slow growth, commons approach to building our clothing and textile systems.

Stop by to learn more about investing in our regional Fibershed and supporting our NYS growers!

In March 2025, NYFIC awarded our collaboration proposal with Seed2Shirt, a member of the Climate Beneficial Fiber Alliance, to develop a yarn blending our NYS Climate Beneficialโ„ข wool and alpaca with upland cotton from Black-owned farms in Seed2Shirt's Climate Beneficialโ„ข network.

Through this collaboration, we created woven yardage and two knit pieces that ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐˜€๐˜†๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—น๐˜โ€”supporting ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐—น๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜€ while helping ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—น๐˜† ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป in both regions.

The fiber blend: 25% NYS Wool, 25% NYS Alpaca, 50% Upland Cotton.

This is a lighter, transitional-weight yarn designed to bridge seasons: breathable from the cotton, with warmth and gentle loft from the wool and alpaca. Itโ€™s made to feel substantial without being heavyโ€”ideal for everyday wear from early fall through late spring.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a role in bringing this collaboration to life!
