Congratulations to Nycholas Underwood from on being named the first recipient of the Beaufort Area Sports Council College Scholarship.

As Chairman of the Beaufort Area Sports Council, it was an honor to present Nycholas with a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of his outstanding achievements both on and off the field. His hard work, leadership, and dedication make him truly deserving of this award. Nominations for this scholarship opens each Spring and are submitted by each school’s Athletic Director.

Port Royal residents, just a friendly reminder that the Annual Beaufort Water Festival 5K & 10K Run is happening this Saturday, May 2nd right here in town.

Runners will be making their way through the historic streets of Port Royal during the morning hours, so you may notice temporary traffic delays or brief road impacts along portions of the route. We appreciate your patience as we help support this long-standing community tradition and welcome participants and visitors to our town.

If you’re out and about, please use caution near runners and follow any posted signage or directions from event staff and public safety personnel.

Good luck to all the runners, and thank you to our residents for helping make Port Royal such a welcoming place for community events.
