Event Thursday is canceled.
I'll be moving the shop to a location with less overhead. I'm spread thin, busy and a little discouraged. Thanks to those who supported Taluka.

I'm only one person... raising a child alone and promoting the business, running the business, painting murals, kid engagements + sports, taking my personal training course as well as moving, beginning court reporting, and a thousand other things make it hard to keep up with marketing what was to be our last event here.

It's not over, I'm just rallying. 🐊💚🐊

🇮🇹 TALUKA TRAVEL DISPATCH ✈️ 🐊 Batiste, the Golden Gator, and Taluka's European travel correspondent, Christopher Dombrosky, are currently in Rome.

These field reports just arrived from Nice on the French Riviera, Pisa, the Colosseum, and the Monument of Victor Emmanuel II - and yes, unlike our first post, these are the real deal!

🐊🌵 Meanwhile, Batiste's second cousin, Thibodeaux, has been assigned to Austin. While he isn't technically attending the 38th Annual Texas Environmental Superconference, he has been stationed at the Four Seasons and is receiving daily briefings from conference attendees.

🥵 Officially began the latest mural! And it's hotter than a steel mill parking lot in July.

🔥 After 500 square feet of line work, today I graduated from Sharpie lines to color blocking and the first real details.

⚡ I've seen some things in life. But watching three gigantic electrodes dip into an electric arc furnace and unleash sparks-flying, building-shaking, metal-melting havoc was top-tier industrial flabbergastery.

🎨 My big challenge is capturing that spectacle with paint. I've done complex, industrial, design-heavy work on walls before, and this job isn't the biggest - but in many ways, it's my most ambitious mural so far (and it's not exactly small). The project will be a little stop-and-go as I juggle a few other commitments, but the wall is officially coming to life.

Batiste, the Golden Gator, has safely arrived in Monaco and is now en route to Rome on his first international assignment.

So it begins, mid-July! ☀️

Summertime 5k sun runs, and years as a land and refinery surveyor, prepare me for my job. Just paced and re-measured centerlines as layout begins on the steel mill mural, which I'm calling "Elemental Confluence." 🔥💧

The mill will celebrate 50 years of production near the end of August, so completion ahead of it will be perfect timing! 🎨🖌

The Art of the Pivot... how many chandeliers does it take to make a big storage unit beautiful?

Apparently, we're about to find out. Between a major mural project, a Village Creek cabin overhaul and a new business headquarters (yes, really), Taluka is entering a season of adaptation and a little creative reinvention.

The goal is to simplify, reduce overhead, create freedom for whatever comes next - and to continue connecting beautiful pieces with the people who love them.

Online shop updates may be slower than usual while we mobilize, paint, build and figure out how to gentrify a roll-up door. As always, my jam is creating beauty in unexpected places.
