This birthday girl had us laughing from start to finish, but my favorite moment wasn’t something she said...

It was the smile on her face (wait ‘til the end!) when she saw herself in her colors.

Imagine learning this young that you don’t have to change yourself to be beautiful.

No chasing trends. No trying to look like someone else. Just learning to work in harmony with the features you were born with.

One of the many reasons I love doing color analysis ... it isn’t about creating confidence but rather helping others recognize what’s already there.

My hope is that she carries this confidence with her long after her birthday, knowing she was wonderfully designed from the very beginning. 💛

The beauty industry lied.

They spent decades convincing women that warmer was healthier, prettier, and more desirable.

But if you’re naturally cool-toned, chasing warmth can actually take you farther away from your most harmonious look.

One of the biggest mistakes I see cool palettes make is adding warmth that was never meant to be there. Warm bronzers, golden highlights, extreme self-tanner, orange-toned makeup... all in an effort to look “healthier” or more vibrant.

But here’s the thing: your coolness isn’t something to fix.

The same melanin that influences your skin tone also influences your hair and eye color. Nature created harmony between all three. When we move too far away from what’s naturally there, that harmony starts to disappear.

Cool palettes shine in cool tones. Think rosy cheeks, icy highlights, berry lips, silver jewelry, charcoal, navy, and crisp cool colors. When you lean into your natural coolness instead of fighting it, everything looks more balanced, clear, and effortless.
